New plants in the main foyer
Last weekend new plants approved by the Committee of Management were placed in the main foyer at the foot of the Grand stairwell. They look terrific! The palms are in self-watering pots, and managed by the plant company, so please do not think of watering them yourself. Beautifying the main foyer has added another dimension to the building! The Melbourne deluge
Wow! What an afternoon yesterday!! A severe storm blew over Melbourne at about 3 pm, dumping hailstones on the city followed by torrential rain. The Southern Cross Station's roof was damaged as hailstones broke through the convex plastic 'bubbles' between the roof sections. The rain was blowing sideways, with leaves tossed in the maelstrom from trees around the city. At the Grand, you could hardly
